The City of Foster City is pleased to announce that construction of major improvements and enhancements to the City’s levee will begin later this year. At its July 20 meeting, the City Council approved a contract to Shimmick Construction for these improvements, which marked the final step leading to the start of construction.

On January 7, 2020, the City of Foster City reached a pivotal milestone in the advancement of the Levee Protection Planning and Improvements Project, CIP 301-657 (Levee Project) after receiving the final remaining permit needed from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

After many months of working with staff from the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), the City of Foster City has received the approval for the required permit from BCDC for construction of the Levee Protection Planning and Improvements Project (Levee Project).
