To further enhance the safety of bicyclists, runners, pedestrians, and motorists, the City will be reducing the speed limit on a section of Beach Park Boulevard to 25 miles per hour. This change is anticipated to take place as soon as appropriate signage can be installed. The section of roadway from approximately Foster City Boulevard to Teal Street has recently been restriped and reconfigured as part of the Levee Improvements Project. To maintain public safety and out of an abundance of caution, the speed limit in this area will be reduced for the duration of the Levee Project.

All motorists, runners, pedestrians, and bicyclists are advised to use additional caution when in the area, and pay particular attention to the new lane markings. Bicyclists are also encouraged to consider alternate areas for their use. A revised detour map is available here which shows the Foster City Pedway on Seal Slough as an alternative route for people to use while the Levee Trail is closed.

The City thanks the community for their patience and understanding during construction of this important improvement for the safety of Foster City.
